Chemo Care Pack

we have a close family member who is about to start chemo and I did a bit of research online and decided to put together my own version of a chemo gift pack...

so after getting a few ideas off pinterest and a few other chemo gift pack sights I set off with a list

first I found things like jumbo playing cards (he is getting older :P )

a notepad

knuckle bones

he's not very computer literate and doesn't go anywhere near facebook and I found this cute little note pad so he can 'update' his status :P

sudoku puzzle book

harmonica... not just good for his lungs but also at annoying people :P

bendy pen

so this is them altogether

and now wrapped with snakes and ladder paper I will just point out :P

and this is the little tag I added to the front

next I was looking for things to keep him hydrated like funny bendy straws (bendy straws make everything more fun)

a drink bottle

mouth gel to help with dry mouth

mint lip balm

these are genius they turn cans into bottles... they snap to the top of a can and then you can just sip like a bottle... they are also good for picnics and stops bugs and bees from flying in the can

all the hydration stuff together :)

then all wrapped

and the little tag I made for them

I thought it was important to add a little hand washing reminder

all wrapped

and the little tag

my next thought was mints

ginger lollies for nausea

different flavoured hard lollies

all wrapped up

again the little tag

these are part of a long running joke and he laughed when he opened it

some of his favourite biscuits

and his favourite chocolate

all wrapped up

the little tag

I saw this in a shop :D and thought it would be funny

all wrapped up

hehe the tag

chemo can make you cold so I looked for warm stuff like this heat pack

a neck pillow

a beanie

and warm socks

all wrapped up

the tag

I think he really appreciated the thought :) and I thought it was nice for them to be a little prepared for the tough times ahead

anyone else put together something like this for a loved one? what did you include?
