Tomato paste

I was going to make some more sun dried tomatoes but then I had a great idea. Why not make tomato paste instead. I had seeded most of my tomatoes ready for them to go in the oven. I did add a few more tomatoes but didn't seed them.



I cooked them on the stove and then strained all then through a fine sieve to get the seeds and skins separate from the tomatoey goodness. 



 I added some herbs and cooked it on the stove for a little while before transferring it a deep pan 


to the oven and let it cook down for about 2 hours at 140 degrees and I ended up with lovely thick tomatoey goodness that is tomato paste.


I've frozen it to use for lasagna at a later time :)
